Kirk Chernansky worked for 20 years in advertising art direction in New York, Denver, Seattle, and Chicago. In 1995, she earned her master’s degree in social work and in 2007 began taking art therapy courses at Northwestern University to bridge the two paths. Kirk’s artwork combines the skills and tools of a commercial artist with themes that reflect a synthesis of opposites, inspired by her previous work as a Dialectical Behavior Therapist.  Her writings express insights she has found within the ancient teachings of the I-Ching Book of Change and A Course in Miracles.  Kirk’s personal philosophy is rooted in the belief that change is best accomplished when we remain open and receptive to our higher selves.
